During a crisis moment when the KSW's traditional backer, the City of Vancouver, cut funding, the school was forced to look for other options for support. The brief stint at Robson Square arose out of a deal made with a realtor aiming to get back at the City by donating $5000 per year to us. In return for this favour, the KSW had to hold a portion of its programming at the rather un-comfortable and un-aesthetic Robson Square. There were a number of readings here, but most notably the Time Mechanix series was created just for this space. For Time Mechanix, invited poets read from and gave talks about the work of poets at least 10 years dead.
